International Art Workshops - Pienkow 2003

In July 2003 young artists were invited to Pienkow for the second time. Ten most talented graduates from the Academies of Art in Gdansk, Poznan and Prague have been selected. Unfortunately, the Czechs were not able to join other participants. The winner of the previous edition Roman Listwak together with his wife Natali was also present. His works of art were displayed at a dedicated exhibition.
At the end of the meeting, a Selection Committee of seven granted a scholarship to Adam Nowaczyk - a graduate of the Academy of Arts in Poznan. We all witnessed what happens to a man whom nature bestows wing upon. I have never observed such a rapid transformation.
For a year after his graduation Adam faced a multitude of difficulties. It would have been a loss to painting and art if he was not to participate in the Pienkow 2003 event. Here, far away from the bustle of civilisation, the tradition of Polish manor was endured. Here, one is to experience hospitality, friendly atmosphere and peace of mind which favors creation of works of art. Here, the openness and kindness of Dr. Marek M. Pienkowski and the great hospitality of his home brings out the most precious of all of us.
